Tim Flannery is a renaissance man.

As a scientist he feels a keen connection to the enlightenment intellectuals of the 16th to 19th centuries. He thinks the art of writing is dying among today’s intellectuals (a feeling echoed by Doctor Carmen Lawrence listen here). The economist John Keynes and evolutionist Charles Darwin were both wonderful writers and Tim Flannery thinks the writing style of their times has influenced his own approach.
Tim Flannery is a guest of the Book Show’s Reading on Vocation event next Wednesday 25th at the Wheeler Centre in Melbourne.
